Delivered from the garbage by Paul K Wanjiku
Education is like a stepping stone
So you step on it, and lift your life on top.
Give it a rhyme, give it your best tone
And live up saying
You started from the bottom,
But now you're on top
Some life events cannot be forgotten
I always pray for them
Whenever I recall them
Living in the streets wasn't easy
Imagine kuhustle tangu asubuhi
Na ukipata doh , unaitwa mwizi
Life' is no easy.
Out blue, we got a chance in a life
You made us smile
You gave us the chance to better our lives
Life in in Ndugu Mdogo
Was so good
Even we couldn't afford to doze on
Before meal
We said a prayer, then bona petito
If we did okay
You recognized it and said, capito!
We share we care
We belong to each other
Life is a bridge, hold my hand
I hold his hand, we cross together
We are humans, we depend on others
For sure, we belong to each other
We liked it when us you embraced
Tied us tight, like we were shoe lace
You choose us together
Without considering tribe nor race
Love and peace, are all that we need
Our role model is you, Lenanto
Heshima unayo imekubali uitwe mzito
Somehow biblical, kitambi bado iko
People change, but you don't do so.
You acted like a daddy
Education we needed, you made it happen
Since we were young
And now we're big youths
Though people disappears
In the world like soot
We can't do so, and father, salute!
